Eloá’s sisterinlaw speaks out after case exposed on Direct Line: ‘They prefer pain’

A Eloá Pimentel’s sisterinlaw, Cintia Pimentel, used social networks to position himself on the case uncovered in the program Linha Direta, which premiered on Thursday (4). In a publication this Friday (5), he criticized the exhibition Kidnapping and murder of Eloá.

“Everything was so good until yesterday! Everyone was fine! Today would be the 30th birthday… I do not have the capacity to speak for the loss because although I am very sorry, I do not feel firsthand what it is like to lose a child and I pray to God that none of us do experienced situation,” he said.

And I’ll say it again: It was dreams, longings, smiles, plans, stories and many more positive things that could always leave the memories alive in this and other generations.

According to her, Globo preferred to explore moments of pain. “But no, they prefer the pain, they prefer to encapsulate the story only in what brings out the worst moments in a person’s life. I hope so at least serve to raise awareness in the country, and show that some laws need to be reviewed. May God once again comfort the hearts of those who are now reliving this pain,” he concluded.

Consider the Eloá case

It all started on October 13, 2008, when Lindemberg Alves Fernandes, 22 years old, around 1 p.m broke into the apartment Exgirlfriend Eloá Cristina Pimentel.

Dissatisfied with the end of the relationship, Lindemberg stopped Eloá and three other colleagues in private prison. Iago Vilera and Victor Campos were released by the kidnapper on the same night of the 13th. Nayara, another colleague of Eloá, also left the place but eventually returned to captivity to seek help in the negotiations.

After 100 hours of frustrated attempts to negotiate, the police broke into the apartment, and Lindemberg responded by shooting at the two girls. Eloá died from a shot in the head and another in the groin. Nayara was hit in the face but survived.

The crime took place in Santo André, in the ABC region of São Paulo.

On February 16, 2012, Lindemberg became Alves sentenced to 98 years and 10 months in prison for the 12 crimes for which he was tried.
