Julie Bishop shares a look at her stunning carpenter dress at the King’s coronation – while posing for a selfie with Lionel Richie
Julie Bishop has a prime seat at the coronation of King Charles III.
The former Australian Foreign Secretary shared a peek inside Westminster Abbey on her Instagram Stories ahead of the ceremony on Saturday.
Wearing an ornate hat and beige designer dress, the 66-year-old beamed alongside American singer Lionel Richie.
“And I will take my place at the coronation alongside Lionel Ritchie, the Prince’s Trust Global Ambassador,” she wrote in her caption.
“I look forward to attending Their Majesties’ coronation today,” Bishop previously told The Daily Telegraph on her way to the venue.

“I lead the Prince’s Trust in Australia and it is also a wonderful opportunity to highlight King Charles’ great work around the world in two countries with employment and education. So it’s an amazing opportunity.”
On Friday, Julie shared a photo of herself in London with her plus one, Tayla Green-Aldridge.
“We at Prince’s Trust Australia are delighted to have Tayla Green-Aldridge, a proud young Wiradjuri and Yuin woman from NSW and recent graduate of @princes.trust.au,” she wrote in her Instagram caption.
“On her first trip abroad, her first time on an airplane indeed, Tayla takes over London – and the Australian media – in no time! Congratulations to all the Prince’s Trust alumni who will live to witness this historic event,” added Bischof.

Bishop, Nick Cave and soccer superstar Sam Kerr are among a handful of Australians invited to the coronation of King Charles III.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his partner Jodie Haydon will lead the group of Australians attending the ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.
Millions of people around the world will tune in to watch King Charles and Queen Camilla be crowned at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday.
All the pomp and splendor begins at 19:30 AEST with the King’s procession to Westminster Abbey and the coronation begins at 20:00.
King Charles, 74, automatically assumed the throne after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September last year.
At Saturday’s coronation, he and Queen Consort Camilla will be officially crowned by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.
