Aliocha Schneider starts into the French song. After offering us two albums in English, the musician-actor turns to his mother tongue to express his moods. The new room in front of her is the first single from an album that is due to be released in autumn.
Aliocha Schneider has spent the last few months under the hot Greek sun. He was there to film Greek Salad, the series based on the trilogy of The Spanish Inn, a generational cult film released in 2003.
During the filming of this series, which was released on Prime Video last April, he had the inspiration for this new album.
“I wanted to do an EP in French and then a full album came out of the work,” says Aliocha Schneider from his apartment in Paris. The first song in French, C’est tout c’est rien, really developed something.

While his previous albums were signed Aliocha, this next album will bear his full name. Because it’s his first album in French, he’s doing something new and “even closer” to it and because he feels it’s more in line with what he’s doing now as an actor. In his opinion, the song Avant elle offers a good insight into his new sound.
“I wanted a modern sound that is a mix of different influences of the moment. My first two albums [Eleven Songs en 2017 et Naked en 2020] were more nostalgic. Now it will be more my time,” adds the musician, who shares his life with Quebec singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin. We can also hear it in the backing vocals on most of his songs, as will be the case on this future album.
The 29-year-old artist, who was born in Paris and raised in Montreal, isn’t closing the door on a song in a duet with his cutie. “It is certain that it is possible! A day…”
He is currently working alongside director Marc-André Gilbert – an old family friend and collaborator of Charlotte Cardin, Ariane Moffatt and Milk & Bone – on this album, which is “not quite finished yet”.
“I’m proud that I’ve managed to convey my current status in the making of this album. I had strong moments in Greece, but I was far from the people I love, far from my girlfriend and family. You really feel the warmth of Greece and the nostalgia of being far from home.”

The music video for the song Avant elle was directed by Cédric Klapisch, director of The Spanish Inn, its sequels and the Greek Salad series.
For the record, seduced by the acting and talent of Aliocha Schneider when they shot a Cartier commercial together a few years ago, the filmmaker wrote for him the role of Tom, son of Xavier in Greek Salad. When the singer then asked him for advice on his clip, it was Klapisch himself who offered to direct using his production box.

Aliocha Schneider will present his new French-language album to Quebec audiences during a provincial tour next November.
Until then, we’ll see him in the Disney+ series All is well in the fall: “A beautiful series about a family living with the illness of one of their own, a comedy and drama at the same time” and in Slovenian film Redemption, as an illegitimate son , who will meet his father and his new family.
The actor will also begin filming an adaptation of Françoise Sagan’s novel Hello sadness in the coming days. He will be Cyril, the main character’s famous summer love.
