Despite the damage caused by the floods in Baie-Saint-Paul, authorities are urging tourists not to cancel their vacations in the region.

According to several players in the community, the city remains open to visitors. One of the main streets, which is a major tourist artery, was not affected by the floods.

However, the reception capacity is reduced. An entire campsite, Le Genévrier, was completely destroyed.

This is not the case for neighboring cities. Almost all possessions were preserved.

“The Charlevoix and Baie-Saint-Paul regions are touristy. If the tourists aren’t there this summer, this drama will continue. Many people live from tourism here. (…) We want to reassure Quebecers by telling them that Baie-Saint-Paul will be ready to welcome tourists this summer. The affected areas are residential,” explains Daniel Guay of Hebergement Charlevoix.
