Through the Twitter account, the Ministry of Foreign Relations announced that the Guinean head of state will hold meetings to strengthen the bilateral cooperation agenda.

With this visit, Sissoco reaffirms the ties of historic brotherhood that “unite our nations and a desire to further advance the construction of a map of comprehensive collaboration,” the source said.

He stressed that with the arrival of the President, the leaders of South America and Africa agreed to vigorously promote the unification of the two continents.

Venezuela and Guinea-Bissau currently maintain strategic alliances and cooperation in areas such as health, education, energy, mining and agriculture for the well-being and development of the two peoples.

On April 5, at the end of the first mixed commission in Caracas, both countries signed 15 agreements in strategic areas of cooperation.

The accords were signed by Venezuela’s Foreign Minister and the African nation’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Public Order Soares Sambú.

Gil explained that the documents cover areas in agriculture, public works, the judiciary, mining, air and maritime transport, among others.

He stressed that this is comprehensive cooperation that includes human rights and politics with a vision of South-South development, the Foreign Ministry said.

The Caribbean nation’s chief of diplomacy pointed out that these agreements are part of an orientation by Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who paid an official visit to Caracas in November 2022.

This visit, he stressed, serves to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two nations and marks the celebration of the first mixed commission.

Sambú emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the countries of the Global South and deepening their commonalities.

He stressed that the Bolivarian Republic is a symbol of how cooperative relations between the countries of this part of the world could look like.
