US shoots dead 14 year old boy playing hide and seek in his yard

Another boy in the United States was shot and wounded after feeling his property was being invaded. In Louisiana, a man hit and injured a 14-year-old girl in the head while she was playing hide and seek on her property in the dark. The shooting took place in Starks, a small rural town of 700 people, on the property of David Doyle, a 58-year-old who told officers he took his gun after seeing “shadows around his house”.

At that point, the man left the house and saw people running onto his property, began shooting and “accidentally” hit the girl, according to the reconstruction provided to the police. The girl was hospitalized and is not considered life-threatening.

The man was arrested and charged with aggravated armed assault and remains in jail on $300,000 bail. In the past month there have been at least 4 similar incidents involving young and very young people.

On April 13, Ralph Yarl was injured in the head by a man who shot after the 16-year-old accidentally knocked on his doorbell. Two days later, 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis was killed when a man shot her car as it pulled into the wrong driveway. Two other 18-year-old girls were injured in Texas when they tried to get into the wrong car. And on the same day, a man in North Carolina, angry because a soccer ball landed in his yard, injured a 6-year-old girl and her father.
