A security officer shot and killed a colleague and two Jews outside a synagogue, a Jewish house of prayer, in the port city of Aghir in the African country of Tunisia. Hundreds of Jews were in the square. Ten people were injured. The officers managed to shoot the assailant before he reached the entrance to the synagogue.

Wednesday is the last day of the SPÖ members’ poll for a new SPÖ head. Around 148,000 SPÖ members can choose between SPÖ leader Pamela Rendi-Wagner, Burgenland Governor Hans Peter Doskozil and Traiskirchner Mayor Andreas Babler. The result should be known in two weeks.
