Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann owe more than $1 million in unpaid taxes to IRS over contentious divorce

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann both filed for divorce in Georgia courts last week after 11 years of marriage.

New documents obtained by Fox News Digital show the estranged couple also have an outstanding balance with the Internal Revenue Service totaling more than $1 million.

A federal tax lien notice was filed with the Treasury Department in April, citing missed tax payments for 2013, 2017 and 2018.

Her financial woes add further stress to the already difficult divorce, as Zolciak and Biermann have conflicting custody claims over their four minor children.

IRS federal personal income tax forms filed in Fulton County showed an unpaid tax balance of $103,564 for the tax year ended 2013.

In 2017, Biermann and Zolciak owed $330,126.

At the height of their “Don’t Be Tardy” success on Bravo, Zolciak and Biermann had an unpaid balance of $714,143 for the 2018 tax year ending.

The total amount owed to the Treasury Department is $1,1147,834.

“No statement will be made,” Zolciak’s rep told Fox News Digital of the divorce. Fox News Digital has contacted Zolciak’s rep regarding the unpaid taxes.

Biermann is also seeking “temporary and permanent sole legal and sole custody” of their four minor children: Kroy, 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, 9.

The former Atlanta Falcons linebacker adopted Zolciak’s adult daughters from a previous relationship, Ariana and Brielle Zolciak-Biermann.

Zolciak is seeking an award of “temporary and permanent primary physical and joint custody of the minor children” in addition to Biermann’s “temporary permanent child support.”

Sources told People magazine that “everybody’s expecting this divorce to be really bad because neither of them are going to back down.”

Another source told the media that the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star had been planning the breakup “for a long time.”

“Money was a big issue,” the source said. “The million tax [payment] There was just way too much pressure on them.”

Zolciak petitioned the court to have her maiden name restored to Kimberleigh Marie Zolciak.

Biermann also applied for “grant of exclusive, temporary and permanent occupancy and possession of the marital residence” in Alpharetta, Georgia after Zolciak vacated the premises.

Biermann filed for divorce on May 5 [grounds] that the marriage is irretrievably broken up.” He also said that “during the course of this marriage the parties have accumulated certain debts and obligations” and that he seeks a “fair division.”

In February, it was reported that Zolciak and Biermann’s extravagant Georgia mansion was foreclosure and was set to go up for public auction in March, allegedly because the couple defaulted on a $1.65 million loan they took out on the property in 2012 was advised. The foreclosure was later called off.
