A day care center in the diocese of Fulda has become the target of right-wing media and hate speech. The wave of hate was unleashed by CDU politician Tilman Kuban.

Fulda – A day care center in the diocese of Fulda has fallen victim to a firestorm of outrage in right-wing publications and social media. Bundestag CDU member Tilman Kuban unleashed the hate wave with several posts on the short message service Twitter. It’s a lesson in hate and hate. It shows how a prominent CDU politician can make victims of everything and everyone. In this case, former JU president Tilman Kuban singles out the small staff of a Catholic nursery for his Kulturkampf and marks them as targets for the right-wing media.

Mother’s Day Gifts: A Lesson in Conservative Kulturkampf

With the words “There are no more limits to madness”, the former president of the Junge Union showed a photograph of a letter to parents in which the “Kita-Team” asked for the understanding that the children were not making gifts for Dia of Mothers and Fathers this year.

“Unlike previous years, we decided at our joint team meeting not to design gifts with your children from this year onwards. At a time when diversity is becoming increasingly important, we want to set an example and not exclude anyone”, says the letter from the Catholic institution.

“Stereotypical gifts are often given on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day,” is how the nursery staff explains why no gifts are given. “This is a great gesture for many mothers and fathers, but it excludes part of society,” explains the nursery staff. The letter from the Catholic institution ends with “With this decision, we don’t want to deny the importance of Mother’s or Father’s Day, they are doing something big!”

No gifts for Mother’s Day: Tilman Kuban puts day care in the digital pillory

The 35-year-old Kuban lawyer initially published the letter so that the daycare center could be located with his phone, address and email address.

After a few hours and numerous protests, the CDU politician deleted the message. But he followed through and republished the letter with an emotional message that sparked outrage. In a statement, Kuban wrote “to protect the children and the facility” that it has now deleted the contact details.

At that point, however, some large ultra-right digital media outlets had already made the letter published by Kuban and the institution’s contacts available on the internet. Manifestations of hatred against the day care center accumulated in the comment columns and on social networks.

Tilman Kuban does not respond to requests to delete hate post

The letter can still be found on Twitter and has been read tens of thousands of times. In the comments below, users express their lack of understanding of “peurinho digital” and demand that the second “madness” post also be deleted. A teacher writes “By the way, we don’t do crafts either, for these and other reasons. Do you need my daycare address?

Day care was no longer available on Tuesday. During phone hours, when parents could report sick children, only the answering machine answered. Management did not respond to an FR request.

Tilman Kuban: “We have to lead the debate”

“In order not to get caught in a fake, I found out right away that it was an original,” Tilman Kuban told FR. Other media also published the letter. “I think it’s an incredible evolution that children should no longer make crafts for their parents. Mothers in Germany do great things and you should thank them on Mother’s Day,” says Kuban. “It’s not about attacking someone personally, because educators do great work too,” says Kuban. “But we should have a debate noun about whether children should still make crafts for fathers and mothers.”
