‘I can’t sleep at night’: Tourist discovers body under hotel bed

A guest at a hotel in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, was shocked on April 21 to find a body under his bed. The tourist, identified only as Zhang, noticed a “strong” odor in the area and police were called.

According to the British portal BBC News, the man said he checked in and went to the room to rest for a few hours. At that moment, Zhang noticed a strange smell in the room.

He then left the hotel and returned hours later to change for dinner. However, he noticed the smell again, but suspected it might be coming from the bakery downstairs or the room’s heating system.

The man even wondered if his feet were the problem, according to local newspaper TouTiao News. However, when he returned after dinner, the smell was so bad that he asked to be moved to another room.

After a few hours, the hotel staff knocked on Zhang’s door and asked him to come to a room he had left.

“People say I make it up”

The tourist shared his experience at the hotel on the Chinese social network Weibo. “I can not sleep at night. People say I make up the story to get famous. I wish something like this hadn’t happened to me. I don’t need anything like that in my life.”

Police were waiting to take her statement and collect her DNA sample. However, officers said not to worry as they had already arrested someone as part of the pending investigation.
