Fairphone promises superior sound quality, powerful bass, warm mids and bright, clear highs delivered by a 40mm dynamic driver.
Headset owners can use an iOS or Android mobile app to track the device’s status, update or adjust its settings.
A durable device
But it is above all its durability that sets it apart from the competition: there are a total of eight parts of the Fairbuds XL that can be easily removed and replaced, from the ear pads to the battery.
The device is also made from vegan leather and is made from 80% recycled plastic and 100% recycled aluminum.
This isn’t Fairphone’s first foray into audio: the company introduced an in-ear headphone in 2021.
Like the brand’s smartphones, the Fairbuds XL are not available in Canada. The helmet has been on sale in Europe since May 11 at a price of 250 euros (370 Canadian dollars).
