Each week, the show introduces us to a new contestant who faces a challenge or has a specific problem. The first episode stars Marylène, a nurse and mother of five children with eating disorders. After suffering from morbid obesity and then anorexia, she said the thought of returning to the labor market scares her as she fears she will forget to eat due to the atypical work hours. Her quest to regain her confidence and transform her relationship with food will inspire many.
Chantal and her team are ready to support Marylène in her transformation. The presenter also admits she is challenged by the reality of the 38-year-old mum, as she herself has suffered from eating disorders in the past. From the start, she emphasizes the importance of learning to receive, which Marylène is not used to: for years she has devoted herself entirely to her children, but now she has to take care of herself! In order to achieve this, it goes through different phases for the viewer to discover.
The game plan
The first day of Marylène’s transformation starts well, as Chantal invites her to walk a via ferrata (a route designed along a rock face) with her. The 30-year-old, who always dreamed of attending the Fort Boyard show for a thrill, is stepping out of her comfort zone! Result? At the end of the day, Marylène regained some confidence in herself and her abilities.
Chantal then offers her guest a meeting with a psychologist who wants to understand why her return to work worries her. As she recounts emotionally difficult events from her past, the psychologist reassures her that she can do it. This emotional moment is followed by a new phase in Marylène’s transformation process, which entitles you to a small challenge: find photos of her taken in happy moments. With the help of Chantal Lacroix, she realizes that she has had periods of happiness even when she was overweight. For the young woman, this is an important awareness!
One day at a time
Afterwards, viewers can follow Chantal and her guest as they participate in a ritual on the “sacred feminine” to reconnect with their original essence. Valérie, holistic doula, guides this spiritual session in which Chantal and Marylène confide in their deepest desires. With Marylène’s inner transformation in full swing, it’s time to flaunt her natural beauty. For the occasion, a stylist and a make-up artist are invited to beautify the contestant, who floats on a cloud as she tries on the three garments specially designed for her. After a make-up session and a successful styling, Marylène finally admits that she thinks she is beautiful. The emotion is palpable and viewers will surely be touched by the authenticity of the participant who has made tremendous strides since the beginning of the process. In addition, the campaign week is coming to an end. Before returning to her everyday life, Marylène is entitled to a meeting with a nutritionist and fulfills another dream: to skate in a duet with a professional figure skater. This ends the journey of the show’s first entrant in an inspiring way, showing that with the right effort, anything is possible!
