According to the majority in parliamentary circles, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to meet Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni next Sunday in Rome. The visit is still being finalized.
Various qualified international sources have learned about a series of visits by the President of Ukraine to European countries in the coming days.
Zelenskyy was in Helsinki (Finland) and The Hague (Netherlands) and, as German media have announced, will be the first to meet Chancellor Scholz and President Steinmeier in Berlin in the next few days. Rome too could be included in this program, something currently unconfirmed by Italian executive sources.
“It is possible that the Pope will meet the President of Ukraine on Saturday.” Vatican sources told ANSA that they were responding to the rumors that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy can make a short visit to Rome. At the moment it is only a hypothesis and therefore there are no official confirmations about the time and place of this possible meeting. The Pope received Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal a few weeks ago, while he received Zelenskyy before the war in February 2020.
