The glamorous daughter of Papua New Guinea’s foreign minister is under fire for sharing a series of TikToks detailing her luxurious, taxpayer-funded trip to King Charles III’s coronation. flaunts.

Ms Tkatchenko, meanwhile, deleted her TikTok account after riots in PNG.

Tania Bale, a PNG social justice advocate, tweeted: ‘The audacity of this ‘Disgusting’.

“Just gross,” said another.

According to a 2020 World Bank report, nearly 40 percent of people living in PNG live below the poverty line, with nearly three million people in the country classified as poor.

Minister Tkatchenko has rebuffed those who crucified his daughter online, saying she didn’t buy anything from the stores where she filmed herself.

“My daughter is now completely devastated. “She’s traumatized by some of the most ridiculous and useless comments I’ve ever seen,” Mr Tkatchenko told ABC’s Pacific Beat.

“We went to London, attended all the meetings and events and she represented her country to the highest degree and with all honor, without fear or favour,” he said.

He later told the Post Courier his daughter had “not misappropriated public funds” and said he would not be stepping down.

The celebration of the coronation reportedly cost PNG taxpayers the equivalent of $3 million.

Ms. Tkatchenko won two bronze medals in swimming at the 2015 South Pacific Games.
