FIRE. Just before 5am Monday morning, three houses under construction on rue de l’Aligoté in the Vigneron sector were destroyed by the flames. At least seven others were damaged by the heat. The event is now in the hands of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The sun was barely on the horizon when the first emergency calls to the emergency number 911 came in. Firefighters were quickly informed that three houses under construction were on fire. A fourth alarm was necessary.
An orange glow and a column of smoke could be seen in the distance as the fire was intense.

The pioneers could not see the damage until they arrived. The houses, for which Constructions Serge Brouillette is responsible, had already collapsed like a house of cards.
The radiant heat damaged several surrounding buildings by melting the coating. A Hydro-Québec mast was cooled with water to prevent ignition.
A garbage container was also affected by the flames.
The cause of the accident is not known at this time, but firefighters have decided to send the file to the SQ for further investigation.
The SIUCQ came to support the existing services.
