The third secretary for scientific affairs of the Cuban Embassy, ​​Danis Zumaquero, reported on the events surrounding the death of Martí, an irretrievable loss at the beginning of a new phase in the struggle for independence organized by and by him he was an undisputed leader.

For her part, Amarilys Gelabert, third secretary for press affairs, emphasized the characteristics of the Cuban national hero as an anti-imperialist, anti-racist, supportive, unifying man who never bowed to difficulties.

A documentary was shown during the event, which included remarks by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the meaning, transcendence and validity of Martí’s thoughts, and an offering of flowers was made to Martí on his bust at the Embassy of the Latin American Nation in Rome.
