The day after the film’s premiere in the Un Certain Consideration section, Monia Chokri and actors Magalie Lépine-Blondeau and Pierre-Yves Cardinal had the honor of climbing the steps of the Palais des Festivals on Friday at the beginning of the evening.
The film team had previously registered for the festival’s traditional photo session.
Simple comme Sylvain, the third feature film by Monia Chokri (“My Brother’s Wife, Babysitter”), was screened on Thursday in the Debussy Hall of the Palais des Festivals and was warmly received by the audience.
This is the second time the Quebec filmmaker has presented a film at Cannes. Four years ago, his first feature film, My Brother’s Wife, won the Jury’s Favorite award in the Un Certain Regard section.
Simple comme Sylvain tells the story of a 40-year-old philosophy professor (Magalie Lépine-Blondeau) who falls in love with a Laurentian entrepreneur (Pierre-Yves Cardinal) who disagrees with her way of life.
The film will be released in Quebec on September 22nd.
