In a video circulated on social media by the Just Stop Oil group, we can first see the person snatching the banners from the hands of the activists blocking traffic as they walk slowly through a London street street goes.

The man then violently threw a protester to the ground and then began pushing several other activists to clear the street. He is also seen taking the phone away from someone who filmed him and throwing the device away.

Commenting on the video, the Just Stop Oil group contrasted the man’s violence with that of governments that allow fossil fuel exploitation, causing many deaths.

“Everyone understands how frustrating it is when traffic is disrupted. However, as of this morning, 13 people have died and another 13,000 have had to be evacuated to Italy after six months of rain fell in 36 hours.

“250,000 people have lost their homes to flooding in Somalia, even as the country experienced its worst drought in 40 years. “The disruption on Britain’s roads pales in comparison to what will happen if we stop exploiting oil, gas and coal,” the environmental group adds.
