It has become THE emblematic song of the strong woman who doesn’t need a man to be happy; nor the original lyrics of the song Flower made it the “saddest song,” says Miley Cyrus.
We’ve all heard the catchy and powerful refrain, “I can buy flowers, write my name in the sand… and I can love myself better than you.” Miley Cyrus tells Britain’s Vogue magazine – whose June issue she is covering – that the chorus originally ended with “And I can’t love myself better than you.”
“I wrote it very differently,” she says. It was more like the 1950s. The saddest song.” The singer finally chased away the gloom. “The song is a bit like make it until you make it. Which I’m a big fan of.
guilt and shame
The 30-year-old star also tells the British magazine that for years she has carried a great deal of guilt and shame over the amount of controversy and unrest she has caused.
“Now that I’m an adult, I realize how harshly I’ve been judged,” she explains. As a child, I was judged harshly by adults, and now, as an adult, I realize I would never judge a child harshly.

Miley Cyrus knows that success is fleeting.
“A lot of headlines said, ‘It’s Miley Time.’ And I think that’s exactly it. It’s a moment And it will be over, she said. It’s not pessimistic. It’s honest and that’s fine with me. Actually, I prefer that. I don’t like staying on top.
While she’s released some of her best career tracks over the past decade, Miley Cyrus has declared that her life is now dedicated to her own happiness. “Do I want to live my life for the pleasure or fulfillment of someone other than myself?” she says.
