This build is based on Windows 11 22H2 and comes with its own activation package, KB5027397. The approach strongly suggests that Windows 11 23H2 will be a minor “update”. It should be able to be installed quickly, to the delight of system administrators, but in return contain only a few important innovations.
We’ll have to wait until the second half of 2024 to hope for a “big” evolution of Windows. It’s possible it’s Windows 12, but again, nothing is confirmed.
Microsoft has made the decision to return to a three-year release cycle. Since Windows 11 was officially released on October 5, 2021, the launch of Windows 12 could happen in October 2024.
