Colorado: Cardiologist accused of drugging and raping women via Tinder

A Colorado cardiologist is on trial for possibly drugging and raping a dozen women he allegedly met on dating sites.

Stephen Matthews, 35, who was first arrested last March, was arrested again Monday after officers found he may have had nine other victims, Denver prosecutors said in a statement.

The cardiologist, who allegedly targeted his victims via dating apps Hinge and Tinder, allegedly lured the women into his apartment by inviting them to play Jenga before offering them a drugged drink in order to sexually assault them , Fox News reported based on the affidavit.

Prosecutors have decided to dismiss the original case in favor of a new case against Stephen Matthews that will include both the original charges and the messages, it said.

The man faces 16 charges, including sexual assault.
