Dominica will host the 50th edition of its traditional flower fair

Mary Benjamin, councilor and member of the Giraudel-Eggleston group, reiterated that preparations are proceeding smoothly and that this will be an unprecedented edition of the flower show since its inception in 1973, referring to the Associates Times digital newspaper.

For its part, Dominica’s Ministry of Tourism also invited sponsors to help make the show a success, while emphasizing that the flower display will captivate tourists as they immerse themselves in the country’s natural beauty.

Roseau South MP Chekria Lockhart commended the flower growers’ group for their years of work that has worked tirelessly to protect the industry over the years.

I would like to encourage customers who love flowers to come because this year will be different from the event we had in 2022, the Enchanted Garden, and there will be many plants for sale, he assured.

They also recognized the sector’s contribution to tourism, as the flower exhibition market pays directly to the country’s hotel chains and events, while also creating new business opportunities for local growers.

The main activities this weekend will be the official inauguration and opening of the flower fair/market, which will take place as part of the National Independence Festival.
