A couple in a car disabled a traffic light in the German city of Erfurt – until the police arrived. Authorities discovered on Friday night that a car with fogged-up windows had been stopped in the middle of the road at a traffic light for a long time, police in the Thuringian state capital announced last night.
The officers decided to check things out, “surprising the two loving occupants of the car, who were clearly embarrassed by the situation”, he said.
I thought the traffic light was broken
The occupants of the vehicle reported that they could no longer contain their desire for each other because the traffic light was broken and they no longer wanted to change. However, they themselves triggered the long red phase: the driver had driven too far ahead at the demand-controlled traffic light, so it was permanently red. After paying a fine, the couple returned to driving. Police did not say how much.
