Car traffic at paralyzed traffic lights

A couple in a car disabled a traffic light in the eastern German city of Erfurt – until the police arrived. Police officers noticed on Friday night that a car with fogged up windows had been parked in the middle of the street for a long time at a traffic light, police said Sunday night. The police decided to watch over the right – “and surprised the two loving occupants of the vehicle”, as it was said.

The couple were “visibly embarrassed by the situation”, police in the state capital of Thuringia said in their broadcast. The occupants of the vehicle reported that they could no longer contain their desire for each other because the traffic light was broken and they no longer wanted to change. However, they themselves triggered the long red phase: the driver drove too far ahead at the demand-controlled traffic light, so that it showed “red” permanently. After paying a fine, the couple returned to driving. The amount involved was not disclosed.
