Collection of “Serpuariens” at the Galeries d’Anjou

This weekend, the big “Serpuariens” collection took place in the Galeries d’Anjou car park to give citizens the opportunity to get rid of their obsolete electronic products.

Until Sunday 5 p.m., those who had accumulated technical objects at home and buried them in the back cabinets could drive to post 22 in the Galeries d’Anjou and hand them over to the Association pour le recycling of electronic products in Quebec.

All you had to do was open your doors or trunk and the team would take care of the rest!

“It has positive environmental impacts,” explains Martin Carli, science popularist and spokesman for ARPE-Québec. “We recover the materials in the devices that are still very useful and have not lost their properties. Second, these devices also contain potentially toxic substances for the environment. Therefore, by taking back the devices, we take proper care of them.

The team from the Association for the Recycling of Electronic Products of Quebec collected 48 pallets of obsolete technical items on Sunday, up from 37 the day before, for a total of 85 pallets.

“We have a lot of electronics that we don’t use anymore, so we thought why not bring them with us instead of keeping them at home,” explains one lady who helped collect Serpuarians.
