Ray Stevenson, the character actor who starred in films including Punisher: Warzone and Indian hit RRR, has died, ABC News has confirmed.
A representative for the actor said he died on Sunday, four days before his 59th birthday. No further details would be released at this time, the representative added.
Stevenson was also known for television roles, including HBO’s Rome, Starz’s Black Sails and the upcoming Star Wars: Ahsoka, which premieres in August.

He began his acting career in the ’90s with roles in several television miniseries, including A Woman’s Guide to Adultery in 1993 and The Tide of Life in 1996. He also acted in several television films such as The Return of . the Native” in 1994 and “The Theory of Flight”.
In 2004, he landed the role of Dagonet in the movie King Arthur, starring Keira Knightley and Clive Owen.

Stevenson starred in several television series and other films in the early 2000s, including the television series Rome as Titus Pullo and the film Punisher: War Zone, in which he played the lead role of Frank Castle.
In 2014, he starred as Marcus in the first Divergent film. Stevenson played the character in the following films in the series: The Divergent Series: Insurgent and Allegiant.

Following Divergent, Stevenson appeared as Volstagg in Thor: Ragnarok, which also starred Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo and Idris Elba. He also portrayed the role of Gar Saxon in 2016’s Star Wars: Rebels and 2020’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
One of his most recent roles was in the Oscar-winning film RRR, in which he played Scott Buxton.
He is set to appear as Baylan Skoll in the upcoming Star Wars miniseries Ahsoka later this year.
