An uproar broke out at the hearing on Monday (22) before the São Paulo judiciary for the hearing of Rose Miriam, with whom Gugu Liberato had three children.
Rose is the author of a lawsuit demanding recognition of a stable connection with Gugu that gives her the right to a portion of his inheritance.
The widow is not entitled to anything today as she was not officially married to the presenter nor was she included in the will he signed in 2011.
Gugu’s sister Aparecida Liberato and his nephews, who were in the will, deny the lawsuit, saying the two never lived as husband and wife.
Attorney Dilermando Cigagna, who represents this side of the family, was questioning Rose about the judge when he asked the judge to put the bombastic question to her: “Rose says they live as husband and wife in one family. Did they have sex?” .
Rose replied, “Yes.”
The lawyer insisted: “As often in the 20 years.” [em que viveram sob o mesmo teto]?”.
That’s when the confusion began, according to reports submitted to the column by people present at the hearing.
Attorney Nelson Wilians, representing the widow, interrupted Dilermando and said the question was “outrageous”.
A committed relationship is recognized by law when two people unite to form a family. The frequency with which they have intercourse is not a question of whether the connection exists or not.
Wilians went further and asked if Dilermando had sexual relations with his wife Angela, who was present at the hearing.
The confusion was general.
The judge then warned that outrageous questions would be dropped.
Amid the commotion, a voice rose again in the room: that of Rose, who said she would like to continue answering the attorney’s question.
“Can I answer?” asked Rose.
The judge said she could go on.
“We stayed together when we felt like it,” said the mother of Gugu’s children.
She also explained that the fact that they slept in separate rooms didn’t prevent them from having moments of intimacy.
Participating in the discussion were Gugu’s three children, João Liberato, and twins, Sofia and Marina.
The three were summoned to the hearing to testify.
The daughters testified and justified this to their mother, Rose, on the grounds that she and the presenter had always been married.
João Liberto, who sided with his aunt and cousins against his mother’s claim, preferred to remain silent.
The column was looking for attorneys Nelson Wilians and Dilermando Cigagna. Wilians declined to comment on the unrest. Cigagna did not answer calls. The process runs under the secrecy of the judiciary.
