Report: US military vehicles attack Belgorod news

According to the New York Times, at least three armored US military vehicles were allegedly used in the attack on the Russian border region of Belgorod.

Two of these vehicles, known as “MRAP” (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected), were apparently confiscated by the Russian side, the newspaper reported yesterday (local time) after evaluating photos and videos posted on Telegram, among other things.

It was unclear how the pro-Ukrainian attackers got those vehicles and how they ended up in Russian hands after Monday’s attack, he said. According to the newspaper, the United States made several hundred of these vehicles available to the Ukrainian military. According to video recordings, so far they have been used in various frontal sections in Ukraine.

“At this time, we are skeptical about the veracity of these reports,” quoted Matthew Miller, a spokesman for the US State Department, in the New York Times. The United States would not have encouraged or facilitated attacks inside Russia. That too was clear, according to Miller. “But, as we also said, it is up to Ukraine to decide how to wage this war.”
