The Mythical Album The dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this spring, will be played in full during a Festival Classica symphony concert on June 10 at the Parc de la Cité in the Saint-Hubert district of Longueuil.
This free event will surely be nostalgic for the older ones and a discovery of the sound of Pink Floyd for the younger ones.
The work was released in March 1973 and became one of the best-selling records in music history worldwide.
Around 120 artists will be on stage at this major concert, including musicians from the Orchester symphonique du Grand Montréal and the Choir of the Opéra Bouffe du Québec.
Renowned for the power and accuracy of her voice, singer Lulu Hughes will be the guest soloist on this show, presented under the baton of conductor Simon Fournier. VJ BunBun will project digital art during the performance.
Classics from another flagship album by the British group The Wall can also be heard from 9 p.m. The site will open at 17:00 with the presence of food trucks.
The Classica Festival is in full swing until June 17th. The program is available online.
