The greatest excluded from the Star Game

Check out the huge compensation the Jets would have demanded for Pierre-Luc Dubois

The Winnipeg Jets have asked the Montreal Canadiens to sell Nick Suzuki in a deal with Quebecer Pierre-Luc Dubois.

At least that’s what the journalist from the sports website The Athletic Murat Ates said. The latter follows the activities of the Manitoba Formation.

In an article published last Saturday, he said that the CH and the Jets had been in serious talks about a deal with the Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts center in the summer of 2022.

The Winnipeg club would have asked the Sainte-Flanelle if Suzuki was available, which would have been quickly refused by the Habs general staff. The Canadian would have offered forwards Christian Dvorak and Josh Anderson instead, as well as a first-round draft pick.

Still, talks will soon resume with a vengeance, according to Ates and a proposal involving forward Kirby Dach would interest the Jets.

Dubois, who could become a restricted free agent this summer, is having the best season of his career. The third overall pick in the 2016 draft has 27 goals and 36 assists for 63 points in 73 games.

This was the 24-year-old skater’s third season with the Jets after starting his career with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
