After the attacks against the “Last Generation” in Germany over the charge of “forming or supporting a criminal organization”, the Austrian branch of the climate protection group supported the German activists.
“We stand fully in solidarity with our sister organization in Germany,” a statement to the APA said. According to the “Last Generation”, attempts are again being made to criminalize peaceful protests.
German authorities took action yesterday against climate protection group “Last Generation”. Around 170 policemen searched 15 apartments and commercial establishments in seven federal states since the beginning of the morning. It is found against seven suspects who are between 22 and 38 years old.

According to investigators, two of the suspects are suspected of having attempted to sabotage an oil pipeline in Germany in April 2022. The investigations are based at the Bavarian Central Office for Combating Extremism and Terrorism. However, a spokesman for the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Munich stressed that this does not mean that the “last generation” is classified as extremists or terrorists.
In Austria, too, members of the “Last Generation” are under surveillance by state security agents. However, it was stressed that no one wanted to be deterred by investigations in Germany.
