LJUBLJANA – Starting next month, the rules will change highway tariffs for those who want to travel east via Slovenia. After government approval from June 15th Cartoon prices will increase by 6.8%. A decision that, like that Infrastructure Minister Alenka Bratušekresponds to the need to “ensure the long-term financial sustainability of Dars (Slovenian motorway operator) to be able to carry out all planned projects”.

Cartoon of how prices change

The last upward adjustment was in 2013. So, ten years later, cartoon prices will increase, and not just slightly. For drivers The annual toll, which previously cost 110 euros, will rise to 117.50 euros with the forthcoming change. With the monthly vignette, the difference is 2 euros more, i.e. 32 euros. The weekly ticket costs 16 euros (1 euro more). The higher the tariffs for van ownerswho has to pay 235 instead of 220 euros for the annual vignette. The monthly vignette increases from 60 to 64.10 euros, the weekly vignette from 30 to 32 euros. For bikers The price for the annual vignette increases from 55 euros to 58.70 euros, for the half-yearly vignette from 30 to 32 euros and for the seven-day vignette the increase is finally fifty cents, from 7.50 to the final price of 8 euros.
Those who already have an annual vignette are lucky. For them, the increase only becomes effective when the security already held expires. And many have already done so. As they told the Slovenian government, the impact at this rate “will not be felt until next year’s purchase.”

Because the rise is triggered

The increases will allow Dars to rake in an additional €5.3m from that title and €14.6m next year. In this way, many projects that are already planned, such as the third development axis and the second tube of the Karavanka Tunnel, can be supported and initiated.
