The Purto Rico House of Representatives paid tribute to Dayanara Torres this morning on the thirtieth anniversary of her coronation as Miss Universe on May 21, 1993 in Mexico.
In the Julio Tomás Martínez room, on the first floor of the Capitolio, there was a huge image of Dayanara de la Noche, crowned in the middle of the act of protocol.
“Totally grateful,” the TV presenter expressed his satisfaction with this recognition and the series of activities that have been organized in the country in recent days and will continue until Sunday in Toa Alta.
“The Chamber is adorned with our Queen, Dayanara Torres,” said Legislative Assembly President Rafael “Tatito” Hernández during his address, before presenting him with official recognition from the House of Representatives and a piece featuring his likeness as an artist Marcos Alegria.
During the act, he received a commemorative piece with his likeness by artist Marcos Alegría from the Chamber President, Rafael “Tatito” Hernández. (Ramon “Tonito” Zayas)Dayanara also received a plaque from Toa Alta Mayor Clemente “Chito” Agosto and his wife.
“I’ve been through a lot in the last 30 years; many triumphs, many wonderful things and other not so good things. But knowing that my city, my people, Puerto Rico, is always there to support and even pray for me in all of these moments is priceless. I will always be grateful for that. I’ve always told my kids Cristian and Ryan that I stand out above everyone, be it because of my faith, because I always put God first, because I’m brave, because I’m brave, because I’m a warrior. So if you ask me I’ll say because I’m Puerto Rican. And that’s how we are, we get up after every song, with more strength and pride than before. What a blessing for me to be born here. “Forever I will be proud to be a Puerto Rican,” said Miss Universe 1993, who was joined by her children and mother Lucy Delgado after receiving the honors.
