The Island of Love Season 3 Lorie and Hugo Crowned

The Island of Love Season 3: Lorie and Hugo Crowned Big Winners – Le Journal de Québec

Lorie and Hugo form one of Season 3’s loveliest couples the island of loveThey were crowned big winners on Thursday night’s very final episode.

It was the audience that chose them by voting on the “L’île de l’amour” application, preferring them to the couples Bianca & Cedric, Enya & Kevin or even Skye & Raphaël.

Lorie and Hugo win the grand prize of $50,000.

“I’m happy, but words just fail me,” Lorie replied to a question from presenter Olivier Dion, seconds after winning the final with her lover.

Hugo, he thanked the public for believing in them. “They’re fine because they haven’t finished hearing from us,” he said.

200km…

Beautician Lorie, 20, comes from Saint-Philippe in Montérégie. A construction worker, Hugo, 26, is from Shawinigan in Mauricie.

The two cities are separated by more or less 200 km of expressways, depending on whether you are driving north or south of the St. Lawrence River. However, Lorie has previously said she wants to move into her “tanner’s” new apartment so the lovebirds shouldn’t suffer from the distance for too long when they return to Quebec.

At first only Hugo signed up for the one who became his “princess”, then the couple moved away as Hugo’s heart wavered between Lorie and Kim, among others. Then they found each other, never to leave each other again.

Loyal during Casa Amor – the stretch where new islanders try to lure singles and couples into staying at the villa – Hugo confirmed to Lorie that she could trust him. We’ve watched their complicity and love grow by the day, both showing themselves more and more loyal and vulnerable to each other.

Heartbreaking departure for Mahyka and Gabriele

At the end of the final flame ceremony featured in Wednesday’s episode, Mahyka and Gabriele were in turn eliminated by Bianca and Cedric, who faced the delicate task – plus they disagreed on the decision to be made! – to oust the couple who he sees as having the least romantic potential among the duos who received the fewest votes. Skye and Raphaël were hot but eventually it was Mahyka and Gabriele who had 30 minutes to pack their bags and leave the gorgeous villa in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic.

The four finalist couples have had different journeys over the course of the seven weeks, but they all end up falling in love, including Enya and Kevin, who have been together since the beginning. It remains to be seen whether Quebec’s return to reality will weld the four relationships together.

Note that narrator Geneviève Schmidt – the first woman in this role in any edition worldwide – did very well and often made us smile with her funny comments. Olivier Dion – the first man to take up the post – has also done well, although we haven’t seen him on screen as much as promised.
