MasterChef Australia star Julie Goodwin has shared the most exciting moment of her career – and it’s a surprising one.

The 52-year-old tells Yahoo Australia that working with the infamous Muppet Kermit the Frog made her scream with delight.

The chef was working on the Today show at the time and received a call saying, “Oh, you’re cooking with Kermit the Frog tomorrow.”

“I screamed and threw my phone away, I had to look for it and started crying. “I love Kermit the Frog, I’ve always loved Kermit the Frog,” she said.

“I played The Rainbow Connection to all three of my babies in my pregnant womb. And the next day I went and cooked with Kermit the Frog.’

She continued, “I completely forgot there was a human under the desk, it was just me and my little green friend and I was just like, ‘Look at me!'”

“If you could have told my 4, 5, 6 year old self that one day I would stand next to Kermit the Frog and chat with him, I just don’t even know what I would have done.” I wouldn’t have believed it. ‘

Julie has been dubbed a “national treasure” by fans after first winning the show in 2009.

“I couldn’t be more grateful to MasterChef.” “It’s been a big part of my life,” she said upon departure.
