This week observers made an incredible discovery: a sunspot seen from the Earth without a telescope. And even with the naked eye!

A sunspot that, according to Sciences et Vie, is causing an uproar in the community. In fact, its origin would be found in a powerful one solar flare – Class M, “the second highest level of their grading scale” – which took place on May 16th. The resulting solar storm would have had relative consequences for our telecommunications systems.
