During his fouryear cancer treatment, designer Luan Henrique Abreu Andrade decided to write a suicide note to comfort family and friends.
He even asked his sister Thaiz Andrade to share the letter on social media after his death.
Luan died on February 28, 2023 at the age of 30. This week, almost three months later, Thaiz remembered the text and decided to share the phrases on yet another social network. At the time, the posthumous letter went viral.

She had already published the letter on Instagram shortly after her brother’s death, as this was her last request in life.
Without reading the text, she copied her brother’s cell phone notes and published them. “I hadn’t read it, I just knew it was on his phone. When he was last in the hospital, he had many delusions and talked about the letter. He asked me not to forget him. He always told me not to forget the letter. As soon as he died I posted it a few hours later,” she explained to g1.
“I left my little one with the hardest task of posting this. “Well, I couldn’t imagine what would happen to me, so I always made the best of it,” Luan wrote in an excerpt of the suicide note.
According to Thaiz, the brother started writing the text right at the beginning of the treatment, between 2019 and 2020.
Luan’s Cancer and Treatment
In 2019, Luan was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, a rare tumor, in his knee that spread to his lungs after metastasizing.
According to the family, he stood firm throughout the fouryear cancer treatment. In addition, he taught everyone around him a lot and did not like being treated as “sick”.
Luan, a resident of Camapuã (MS), was undergoing chemotherapy in Campo Grande and always had the company of his family at the sessions.

“Well, I have good news and bad news. The bad thing is that I seem to have been chatting. The good news: If you’re reading this, you definitely haven’t been chatting (unless you have WiFi in the afterlife). I left my little one the hardest task of posting this.
Well, I couldn’t imagine what would happen to me, so I always made the best of it. If there’s one thing I learned from my parents, it’s to lift your head up and put a smile on your face despite our problems, go on, you’re welcome, no! And speaking of my parents, what a mother and what a father I have, my mother is the most incredible woman I know, the one I love most in this world, always present, never let me down , a woman who is struggling, who thinks more about her children than about yourself, I know you are suffering maaaas raise your head, go for your walk and move forward, I love you mom.
Dad, the baddest Kra in Brazil, still comes into my room today, gives me a kiss and says he loves me, I look like a 12yearold kid and I don’t understand how good it is at six, even though I do get angry because he wakes me kkkkk)

My sisters, thank you for the “few” beautiful nephews that I have had the privilege of knowing and loving individually. Thaiz reduces alcohol consumption and stops fighting in the streets. Ingrid covers the parakeet. I love you, take care of our parents and please don’t think of me with pity or sadness, smile knowing we had a great time together and it was AWESOME.
I hate making people sad. More than anything, I love making people laugh and smile. So please laugh at the memories and what we did together instead of thinking about the end of my story. Well, saying goodbye costs a lot, but there is no life without goodbye.
It’s all part of it, so it’s best to enjoy every moment without thinking about what happens after and how I enjoyed it because “the agent only sees himself once”.

Thank you to all my doctors and nurses who have taken such good care of me. I have no doubt that my team gave me everything they could.
