Ukraine Two killed in attacks on Russian soil

Ukraine. Two killed in attacks on Russian soil

“One person died. He was a security guard for a company in town. At the time of the attack, he was on the street,” Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of the Belgorod region, told Telegram.

According to the governor, two teenagers, a 15yearold girl and a 17yearold boy, were also injured in that attack on the village of Chebekino, very close to the Ukrainian border, and taken to a children’s hospital.

According to Gladkov, another person was injured but not hospitalized.

The governor said the attacks in his area caused damage to power lines and also hit “two large companies” and caused a fire.

The Belgorod region, near the border with Ukraine, was the target of an armed raid from Ukrainian territory claimed by antiKremlin Russians earlier this week and has been the target of regular attacks ever since.

Elsewhere along the Ukrainian border, Kursk Region Governor Roman Starovoit reported the death of a worker after mortar fire near the village of Plekhovo.

The man worked on defense installations near Ukraine, he said.

In another part of Russia, two “drones” damaged a building managing an oil pipeline in the western Pskov region, Governor Mikhail Vedernikov announced today.

No injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing.

According to unconfirmed reports by Baza, a Russian media outlet on Telegram with secret sources, the unmanned devices were aimed at Transneft’s oil pumping station in Pskov.

Baza also reported a drone attack on another oil station in the Tver region northwest of Moscow.

In a press release, the regional government merely mentioned “a ‘drone’ crash” near the village of Erokhino, which caused no injuries, without giving further details.

Drone attacks in Russia have increased in recent weeks, often in regions bordering Ukraine.

Moscow blames Ukraine and its Western allies for the growing number of attacks and sabotage operations, which Kiev denies.

According to the latest UN figures, the military offensive launched by Russia in Ukraine on February 24, 2022 has so far led to the flight of more than 14.7 million people 6.5 million internally displaced persons and more than 8.2 million to European countries refugee crisis as the worst in Europe since World War II (19391945).
