Maria Bethany received Gloria Groove at the Brazilian Music Prize rehearsal and was delighted by the presence of the singer. They met backstage at the Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, May 30th to rehearse the duet they will sing as a tribute to Alcione, the Marrom. The Brazilian Music Prize is back after four years.
Bethânia was already in the dressing room and couldn’t wait to get to know each other Gloria Groove, which arrived disassembled. Gloria was surprised by the awe of the Bahian and touched by the compliments she received.

Jose Mauricio Machline, director and creator of the award, suggested Bethânia to do a duet with Gloria and she immediately agreed. The two discussed the details of the duet and rehearsed the song “O meu amor” by Chico Buarque.
The rehearsal showed that the combination of the two voices worked very well. The arrangement was updated and given a more percussive feel. Zelia Duncanwho is signing the script for the award, said that this will be the musical trend of the evening, with Pretinho da Serrinha Africanizing the winner’s songs.
