Two days to speak about the challenges of Latin America and the Caribbean in Washington

Washington will host an important meeting this Thursday and Friday to discuss the future of Latin America and the Caribbean. The US capital will feature an agenda and 30 high-level panelists to analyze the challenges of sustainable development. The CAF Development Bank annual conference in the region will address key issues of post-pandemic resilience, financing climate action, migration and economic growth, women’s empowerment, and democratic and political governance abroad.

Organized annually in partnership with the Inter-American Dialogue and the Organization of American States since 1997, the event aims to focus on the solutions taking shape on the world’s most unequal continent. The conference will be streamed live on the EL PAÍS website and will take place between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time (Washington time). (From 14:00 to 18:00 Colombian time; from 13:00 to 17:00 Mexican time and from 16:00 to 20:00 Argentina time).

Attendees at the event will include Sergio Díaz-Granados, Executive President of CAF – Latin America Development Bank, Laura Chinchilla, Former President of Costa Rica and Co-Chair of the Board of Inter-American Dialogue, Frank Mora, United States Ambassador to the Organization of American States ( OAS), Hilen Meirovich, Head of Climate Change at IDB Invest, Rebecca Bill Chavez, President and CEO of the Inter-American Dialogue, Beatriz Londoño, former Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Government of Colombia or Thomas Shannon, former Undersecretary for Political Affairs of the Government of the United States of America.
