Jessica Segura is experiencing one of her best professional moments after breaking rocks for several years. Together with Daniela Luján and Mariana Botas, they form the popular trio Envinadas, which has quickly become a benchmark in content creation. He is taking part in the comedy show Bola de locos and will be back in the new season of Me caigo de risa in a few days, as well as making his debut as a stand-up singer.

Segura, the famous “Key” from “Family of Ten,” couldn’t be happier with her busy work schedule, as if it were some kind of retaliation for the unlucky start she had as a child, when she passed despite all the exams , they almost always ended up saying “not this time”.

Jessica Segura was the girl who always wanted to act, and from a young age she made it clear to her parents that they were gradually accepting the idea, says the actress on a recent episode of the Well Traveled podcast. Every time she saw a casting call posted, she would urge her parents to take her to try her out on camera, and she even dreamed of being “discovered” by a manager who would make her a star.

But his first big break came when the Producer Valentin Pimstein announced that he will continue his hit “Carousel” with Gaby Rivero in the same role as the lovable “Teacher Jimena” but with new childlike talent.

The project has now been christened as Carousel of the Americas He wanted to teach history and geography to his young children’s audiences, as the main theme of the “lessons” centered on half a century of shared history between Spain and America. But the plot also retained the characters from the first Mexican version.

One of those roles, that of a “poor girl,” was for Segura… for a few seconds, and they turned her down because of her physique.

“I’m doing my casting, I’m staying, but I’m talking to you (…) that the castings went on for three-month periods until you finally stayed, then I stayed in the Carousel … and my call was like that about the curtains. “ At the beginning of the telenovela produced by Mr. Valentín Pimstein and I don’t know what, I felt very contrived, güey!” recalled the actress.

The producer, Jessica said, may not have been involved in the selection process because when she got the call to record the feature, she couldn’t believe she was there. “I stayed like the poor carousel and (because of my) green eyes they blame me. In exactly the same way, Valentin Pimstein says when we are already recording the beginning of the novel: “Do not defile! How can the poor have the eyes of the rich?”. I literally climbed onto the carousel, it lowers me and they take me out,” he said.

Pimstein, known for saying that anything can happen in his stories, no matter how unlikely it seemed, was cast into the stereotypes he portrayed in his soap operas.

“I remember suddenly my mom came and said to me ‘come on’ and I was ‘mom, I’m working’ and my mother was ‘come on’, then she took me to the RV and told me ‘you have to change, we’.” “I’m leaving” and I “How?! Imagine if I were a girl, I had no idea what was going on.”

What seemed like her first big break didn’t happen, she fell into depression and her parents sought professional help to prevent what they believed would end in tragedy.

Then came Valentina, Alberto Castro’s first telenovela production starring his sister Verónica Castro and Juan Ferrara. And although his character was confirmed this time around, he lived very little.

“As a kid, my character was Verónica Castro, she was in 90% of the telenovela, she was amazing. I’m going to Cancun (where it was recorded) but people didn’t like Veronica’s rich role, they killed her and turned her into a poor twin sister who’s in hiding and my character goes to shit,” recalls the actress .

But other opportunities arose, such as working as a presenter at Disney Channel, and little by little she gained space on television in other soap operas such as “Vivo por Elena”, “Soñadoras”, “Teresa” and even in films with “El Tigre de Santa Julia” and “Quemas”. read names
