According to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, an 11-year-old child was injured as a result of the “massive attack”. A 68-year-old man was referred to the hospital. Homes and cars were also damaged.
The region’s police chief, Andriy Nebytov, said that after the new Russian attack, “five houses were damaged”, presumably by falling rocket parts. The night air alert lasted “more than two hours”.
As the head of the military and civil administration, Serhiy Popko, told Telegram, Russia used X-101 and X-555 missiles and Iranian Shahed-type drones in the latest wave of attacks. This is the sixth Russian airstrike in six days, Popko said.
Russia: Attacks in the Belgorod border region
According to the governor, two women were killed by bombings in the Russian region of Belgorod, which borders Ukraine. The two were driving in their car not far from the town of Shebekino today when artillery fragments hit their vehicle, wrote Vyacheslav Gladkov in Telegram.
Two men were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Gladkov blamed the attacks on the Ukrainian army. This could not be independently verified. Drone attacks and explosions have also been reported in the Kursk, Bryansk, Smolensk and Kaluga regions.
Two Russian paramilitary volunteer battalions have repeatedly claimed responsibility for such attacks. Groups called the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Russian Freedom Legion are currently fighting on the side of Ukraine, but they are made up of Russian nationalists.
