Mexico: About forty bags of human remains found in western country

A search for eight young people who had been missing for several days found 45 bags of human remains in a ravine in western Mexico’s Jalisco state.

A macabre discovery. Local authorities in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, found about 40 bags of human remains in a ravine.

While searching for eight people who have been missing for ten days, authorities announced on Wednesday that they had discovered those bags.

According to a press release from the Jalisco Attorney’s Office, these are human remains of women and men.

The sacks were found Tuesday at the bottom of a 40-meter-high ravine in the municipality of Zapopan, on the outskirts of Guadalajara, the capital of the state of Jalisco.

Two women and six men are missing

Authorities have launched an operation to locate two women and six men, around the age of 30, who have been missing since May 20.

Their disappearances were each reported individually, but investigators determined that these eight people all worked in the same place, at a call center.

This call center is also in the area where the remains were discovered.

According to initial findings of the investigation, this center would be involved in illegal activities.

Nevertheless, the families of the disappeared do not want to accept this hypothesis and accuse the police of criminalizing the victims.
