Kiev: According to Ukraine, all Russian missiles and drones have been intercepted
Ukraine claimed on Friday it intercepted “all” Russian missiles and drones aimed at Kiev overnight, wounding at least two people, the sixth attack on the capital in as many days. “All 15 (Russian) cruise missiles and 21 attack drones were destroyed by anti-aircraft defenses,” the Ukrainian Air Force told Telegram on social media.
According to the head of the local military administration, Serguïi Popko, Russia used X-101/555 missiles and explosive Shahed drones. “The terror against Kiev with airstrikes continues,” he complained on Telegram.
“In the last six days, the (Russians) have already launched their sixth airstrike on the city,” he said as the Ukrainian capital came back into the Russian military’s sights after a lull in recent months. According to Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office, which opened an investigation, after this “massive attack” “an 11-year-old child was injured (and) a 68-year-old man was hospitalized.” Homes and cars were also “damaged,” the source said.
