The first mention referred to SpiderMan from Tom Holland. The character does not appear in the film but is quoted by Miguel O’Hara. While ranting about the problems SpiderMan can cause the multiverse, he cites what “SpiderMan of Earth 1999” along with Doctor Strange caused.
Next, O’Hara explains how the multiverse bifurcations work and the art used to illustrate the webtypes’ relationship to timelines is the same as that used in Loki season 1 and the postcredits scene of Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania can be seen.
Finally, the film features a scene from The Amazing SpiderMan when Andrew Garfield holds the body of Captain Stacy, Gwen’s father. Garfield’s spider, as well as Tobey Maguire’s, were canonically incorporated into the MCU in SpiderMan: No Coming Home a film in which the mess mentioned by O’Hara takes place.
SpiderMan: Through the SpiderVerse hits theaters in Brazil on June 1, 2023. The third film, titled SpiderMan: Beyond the SpiderVerse, hits theaters on March 29th. 2024
