The castle where Tina Turner lived in Küsnacht, Switzerland, was sold a few days after her death. Chateau Algonquin, where fans flocked to pay their respects, is now owned by a Swiss businesswoman, billionaire Ines Kaindl-Benes. The property, which includes a four-story main building, a large garden and boathouse and is surrounded by 1,350 hectares of forest, has been the home of American singer and her husband Erwin Bach for 22 years.

The Queen of Rock’n’Roll didn’t buy it, just rented it. And now the mansion is changing hands. The purchase price paid for the castle has not been disclosed but is estimated at $86 million. The music icon and her EMI CEO husband moved there because Turner wanted direct access to Lake Zurich. And Tina and Erwin got married in the castle in 2013.

Now the mansion, which Turner named after his Native American ancestors, the Algonquin tribe, has been sold. This was confirmed by the land registry office in Küsnacht, as explained by the Swiss media. However, the widower Erwin should not be forced to leave. The new owner bought the property as an investment. Kaindl-Benes is CEO of the family-run wood processing company Swiss Krono Group in Lucerne with private assets worth US$988 million. But two years ago, Turner and her husband bought another property on Lake Zurich in the village of Stäfa for a weekend retreat.
