Jenna Ortega will produce the second season of Wednesday.

During The Hollywood Reporter’s comedy-actresses roundtable, the Netflix series star announced that she will also be in the writers’ room for the upcoming season. A new role that excites her.

“I feel really lucky to be a producer this time. The best teams or the best environments that I’ve been on set with were people who were very cooperative and I wanted to hear different opinions because it’s very easy for people to get lost in their heads. I think a project is better when as many voices and ideas as possible have their say,” she explained.

The 20-year-old actress said she feels “really lucky” to be hired as a producer. “I feel really fortunate to be able to be in the room at the start of next season to talk about scripts and give feedback,” she said.

In her interview, the Fallout actress also said that she was initially hesitant about starring in the series. “I started Wednesday hesitantly. But I was fortunate to work with someone like Tim Burton, who pulled me into his trailer one day and said he wanted to help me make my voice heard, she said. Every day me, him, the screenwriters would meet us in the morning and listen to everyone’s ideas.

News that comes as Jenna Ortega caused controversy when she explained that she had to rewrite certain dialogues of her Wednesday Addams character because she felt the writers didn’t understand the heroine’s character.

No release date for the next season has been announced yet.
