Katie Price hit back at critics today, claiming the RSPCA has “no concerns” about the welfare of the animals in her home – after a seventh pet in her care died.
The 45-year-old former glamor model’s black German shepherd Blade was killed by a car last week in what Katie has now described as a “nasty attack on her”.
The star, who recently split again from fiancé Carl Woods, has lost several pets over the past six years, including five dogs, a horse and even her chameleon, Marvin.
Animal rights group PETA attacked the star Tuesday, saying she had “blood on her hands.” A petition to ban her from owning any more pets has garnered more than 33,000 signatures.
But Katie has now hit back and said update. RSPCA has cared for my animals all the way to my house and never has and has never done so.
Her opinion: Katie Price hit back on Wednesday, saying the RSPCA had “no concerns” about animal welfare in her home – after a seventh pet in her care died (pictured with Blade).
Strong words: Katie has now hit back, saying in her story: “Update RSPCA looked after my house and didn’t worry about my animals and never had or ever had it.”
Hard times: It comes after Katie confirmed she has split from boyfriend Carl Woods yet again following the death of her dog Blade
Sad news: Katie shared on Instagram on Monday that her beloved German shepherd died after being hit by a car
Suspicion: She took to Instagram again on Tuesday, claiming her deceased pet may have been killed intentionally and that the death is being investigated (Blade pictured with Carl)
She wrote: “The expansions preparing for a new transformation have literally thrown so much shit at me and being single I have to deal with suspicions every now and then that my dog was killed on purpose , so when it’s being examined I need a massive change and movement in my life.’
“But we’re trying to find out how Blade was killed and what final steps he took as this is a deliberate target to kill him.”
This comes after Katie confirmed she has split from boyfriend Carl Woods yet again.
Katie and Carl were last seen together late last month celebrating her birthday in Brighton.
Sharing a photo of herself with short black hair, she wrote, “Extensions ready for a new transformation have literally thrown so much shit at me and being single I’ve had to deal with the suspicion every now and then that my dog was intentionally killed and an investigation has been launched.” “I need a tremendous change and movement in my life.”
Elisa Allen, PETA’s vice president of programs, told Web, “After a seventh pet died in her custody, Katie Price should face more than the judiciary of public opinion.”
“PETA is urging authorities to investigate Blade’s death and reminding the public that Price isn’t the only one with blood on her hands.”
“Greedy breeders are also to blame, who keep selling or “giving” her animals.”
A representative for Katie was contacted by Web for further comment.
Katie announced Blade’s death on Monday, writing on Instagram: “Words cannot express the loss of my best friend, my protector, my absolute jack of all trades who sadly passed away today.”
“I have no words to express how I feel, but the numbness and shock are tearing Blade apart.”
Blade’s death comes just seven months after another of Katie’s dogs, Sharon, was killed on the same street.
The petition to ban Katie from owning any more pets was started three years ago and within a year signatures grew to 10,000.
After the death of their Pomeranian Sharon – after the dog escaped through an open gate and was knocked out – in November 2022, the petition gained a further 16,000 supporters.
The critics behind the petition wrote: “A puppy has died in the care of Katie Price in the last 24 hours.” She bought this puppy three weeks ago for her 13-year-old child, who died in an accident nobody saw …
“In the last five years, more animals have died due to lack of care.” Horses, dogs, cats, lizards, hedgehogs. This is not a single family tragedy. That’s a common occurrence at Katie Price’s house. Two dogs were run over…
“Puppies were found dead from drowning in a neglected swimming pool.” A horse was run over on a freeway. Animals just disappear into their home and are never seen again. Her guard dog broke into her neighbor’s yard and killed their chickens…
“A dog trained to attack people.” Also tore her cat apart. Neglection [is] seen on her show My Crazy Life. Cat feces with mold on it. Dog poop just lies on the floor. There are clothes lying around everywhere…
“Alger [sic] grows in her pool where her pup drowned. She jokes about her dirty mansion. But it’s no joke that animals die due to their lack of care…
“Being left alone to suffer premature deaths with no one saying ‘enough is enough’ and continuing to sell their animals.” For three weeks she had a bulldog puppy named Rola in her care…
“No one, including her, knows how it died.” “We have to put a stop to this, now no more animals have to die.”
Following the update, sources told The Sun: “It’s shocking to see the conditions these poor dogs live in…”
“After everything that has happened to Katie’s pets in the past, you would have thought that she would do anything for her dogs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.”
“She may have renovated her house, but the dogs don’t seem to benefit and are still living in misery.”
Sharon was killed when she allegedly fled and ran into the street, where she was hit by a car. She was picked up by the driver from the A24 and taken to Arun Vets in Pulborough, West Sussex, where her death was confirmed.
In 2020, Katie’s dog Rolo choked to death in her home while her German shepherd Sparkle was mowed in February of that year – a shocking echo of the death of her dog Queenie, who was killed in 2018.
In July 2020, Katie faced criticism from animal rights activists following Rolo’s suffocation. The French bulldog died after getting stuck in an electric chair while the reality star was packing some bags in another room, The Mirror reported.
Rolo was given to her daughter Princess for her birthday.
Katie later revealed her shock after being illegally advised to give her late pup Rolo cannabis oil before he “choked in an armchair”.
Katie told The Mirror that she was unaware that under the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013 it was illegal to give the substance to dogs without a vet’s prescription.
One of Katie’s horses was tragically hit by a car in 2017 and died after fleeing a field.
And in 2018, her dog Queenie was hit and killed by a delivery driver.
At the time, she wrote: “I am completely devastated and heartbroken. My faithful loving family dog Queenie life was cut short when she was killed by a heartless delivery driver who hit our dog when he saw her struggling and drove away without telling us leaving her to die very disappointed that a person can be so heartless! [sic]’
Sad: The star has endured a string of tragedies over the past six years, including the deaths of what are now five dogs, a horse and even her chameleon, Marvin (pictured is Rolo, who died in an accident)
Response: A petition calling for Katie to be banned from owning pets has now garnered more than 33,000 signatures after seven pets died in her care
Cute: She has previously shared videos of her pooches playing together
Horrific: In 2020, Katie’s dog Rolo was suffocated in her home while her German Shepherd Sparkle was mowed in February of the same year – a shocking echo of the death of her dog Queenie, who was killed in 2018
Tragic: Rolo’s death came just months after her German Shepherd, Sparkle (pictured), died when she ran onto a busy road
Backlash: In November 2020, Katie’s fiancé Carl angrily defended his decision to buy Katie a puppy after sparking backlash by giving the former glamor model and Katie’s daughter Princess a French bulldog, Precious (pictured).
Difficult: One of Katie’s horses tragically died on the road in 2017 after fleeing a field
Loss: Katie’s pet chameleon Marvin (pictured here with her son Harvey) died in 2018
It was claimed the driver worked for Domino’s Pizza, but a spokesman said at the time: “Our investigation found that our driver accidentally called Ms Price’s property on the intercom at the security gate while attempting to make a delivery to a neighbour .”
“When she realized the mistake, the GPS tracking showed she had gone straight to the correct address.” Our driver stayed on public roads and did not have access to Ms. Price’s property.
“Our driver has a clean, valid EU driving license and claims she did not hit an animal.” She voluntarily contacted police but was told no criminal charges were pending. “We want to understand what happened and have asked Ms Price to provide CCTV to assist our investigation.”
“Unfortunately, despite repeated requests, we are still unable to obtain a crime reference number or view of the CCTV mentioned by Katie to assist our investigation.”
