X Factor star Mary Byrne looks almost unrecognizable as she poses for glamorous Instagram snaps 13 years after hitting the big screen and losing 12 pounds
She rose to fame on 2010’s “X Factor,” where she impressed the judges and eventually finished fifth.
And 13 years after her TV success, Mary Byrne looked almost unrecognizable as she recently posed for glamorous snaps on Instagram.
The former Tesco worker, now 63, has long since given up her curly brunette hair and bangs and now sports a short blonde haircut.
In her social media photos, Mary, who has shed a whopping six pounds in recent years, wows in a glittering tiara and matching intricate necklace.
The singer also slipped into a blue sequined spaghetti strap dress and a white fur coat, and opted for an elegant makeup palette.

Wow! And 13 years after her TV success, Mary Byrne looked almost unrecognizable as she recently posed for glamorous snaps on Instagram.
Mary still performs and entertains her fans these days and appeared to be preparing to take the stage as she also carried a discreet microphone.
She first found recognition in 2010 when, during her audition, she wowed then-X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl and Katy Perry with an incredible rendition of Tom Jones’ ‘I Who Have Nothing’.
Despite wowing audiences week after week, she didn’t win and ended up finishing fifth.
Her series famously marked the year One Direction was formed and Matt Cardle won the title.
Since then she has had an impressive career, performing with Cliff Richard on Mediterranean cruises.
She also starred alongside Linda Nolan in Menopause: The Musical.
This comes after Mary was hospitalized earlier this year after her tour bus collided with a truck in an “explosive” accident.
The X Factor star was touring in the UK with the cast of Menopause the Musical 2 when their van collided with a truck that was braking to avoid a deer.

What a woman: despite wowing audiences week after week, she didn’t win and ended up finishing fifth
Speaking to The Irish Sun, Mary said: “The whole front of our bus was destroyed, the engine was destroyed.” It was like an explosion. That’s what it sounded like. All I could see was people being thrown from one end of the bus to the other. This is the most horrible thing that has ever happened to me.
She added: “You know that way you say your life flashes before you? I didn’t see lightning, but I saw my mother and father and daughter, all the people I loved came to mind.”
Mary was hospitalized along with fellow cast members Jessica Martin, Rebecca Wheatley, Susie Fenwick, director Kelly Sims and driver Jim Perrie.
Mary explained, “It wasn’t until I got to the hospital that I started having pain in my arm, then I was taken for an X-ray.” My arm is very bad. I have tissue damage on my back and neck. I’m still very emotional now, I keep bursting into tears. I do not know why. I’m so, so thankful to be alive.’
