On Tuesday, June 6th, we noticed on his Instagram account that the actor and host appeared to be back at work on the first day of shooting of season 16 Curious beginning. Recall that in recent months he has been forced to postpone his tour but also to be replaced in animation by There are people in the mess.

This Wednesday, the 60-year-old felt ready to report on his state of health.

In a lengthy message on his public Facebook account, he explains that on March 29 he had a “benign but worrying” tumor removed from his brain. This operation had to be performed quickly and required a break from work of at least two months afterwards.

Now that he’s out of danger, he can safely get back to work. That’s why we actually saw him on the set of Curieux Bégin yesterday, but he also states that he has resumed his place at Y’a du monde à mass. As for her tour, however, she’s completely cancelled.

The one the audience loved to hate lately Untenable took the time to thank everyone who has helped him over the past few months, from the CHUM medical team to Andre Robitaille who replaced him, his loved ones, his mystery lover and the public.

“Montreal, June 7, 2023

On March 29th I underwent major brain surgery after accidentally undergoing a scan that kept causing headaches. The outstanding team for neurosurgery at CHUM, led by the larger-than-life Dr. Michel W. Bojanowski removed a benign but worrying tumor, the presence of which required rapid intervention and a break in work of at least two months.

Everything went fine

🙂

It is with unspeakable joy that I took back my chair at Y’a du Monde À ‘Messe on May 31st to watch the final 6 episodes of our Season 7, in addition to filming our Christmas special in November.
I would like to warmly thank André Robitaille for so generously agreeing to stand in for me during my absence. A challenge he – are we surprised?! – accepted with grace, elegance and brilliance.
Thank you also to Télé-Québec (Nicole Sauvageau, Virginie Langlois) and to the entire YAMM team (Mylène Ferron, Marie-France Bazzo, Annie Spencer) for their understanding and unwavering support.
Many thanks also to the public of the “believers” who were also very concerned about me in this difficult situation.

It was with the same joy that I resumed filming the 16th season of Curieux Bégin. A season where the number of episodes will more than double as we will be shooting 25 shows.
Thank you again to Télé-Québec, Zone3 (Brigitte Lemonde), Luc Rousseau, the dedicated and accommodating producer, and to the entire production team, who showed great flexibility and understanding and were so kind to accompany us
Endless thanks also go to Louis Morissette and Véronique Trépanier from KO Scène and the entire team around my show “The Eight Deadly Sins according to Christian Bégin” (René Brisebois, Chantal Lamarre)

Such a test invites reflection.
It is in this context that I reluctantly announce the cancellation of the remainder of my tour. A difficult decision for me, but determined by the demands of a show alone on stage.

Thank you to everyone who believed in me, trusted me in this project and showed their support by purchasing tickets.

A big thank you to Maxime Vanasse and the entire team at Agence MVA for your unwavering trust, unwavering respect and unconditional support through all of this.

I’m fine, my head is full of projects and I’m super excited to find my way back to work and especially the people who make it so necessary, stimulating and meaningful. Once again. More than ever.

Thank you everyone, colleagues, comrades, friends, loved ones, family, members of the public for your immense support, deep concern and reassuring understanding.

My lover, who changes EVERYTHING, often tells me: “You are loved, my friend!”
And the air of nothingness, it helps immensely, it gives breath, impetus, meaning…

I’m back. Everything is fine, summer. Bit by bit…
